Our Learning Support Team welcome children who have additional learning or physical needs and develop individual plans to suit their requirements. For some, this will be a short-term plan to overcome a particular barrier, whilst for others there may be the need for ongoing support.
Where children are identified, or have been assessed as having an additional need, our team will work with the child, their parents and any outside agencies involved to develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Wherever possible, we will support children to achieve within the classroom.
As an international school, we understand that some of our children will speak little or no English when they join us. At The City School International - Saudi we celebrate this diversity; ensuring that with support from our trained EAL team, all of our children will be able to access fully our curriculum, which is taught in English.
Gifted students are equally valued and instruction personalised for them at The City School. We integrate ‘stretch and challenge’ strategies in the students’ learning experience. We apply active learning approaches that engage, challenge and inspire learners, combined with innovative use of digital technology in the classroom to extend the students, knowledge, skills and understanding.
